The Mission of the Alberta Fund is to reshape the public debate about Alberta’s future into one that is participatory, responsive, engaged and accurate. The Alberta Fund believes the role of government and the private sector must be clearly defined and established. The Alberta Fund respects the important place government occupies in modern society but does not believe government has all the answers to the progress of Albertans or civilization. The Alberta Fund is not a political organization, but exists to influence political parties, legislation and other initiatives which further the fund’s main objectives.
The Alberta Fund is a non-profit organization created, funded and guided by a diverse group of ordinary Albertans deeply concerned about the future of Alberta’s economy.
To achieve its Mission the Alberta Fund will undertake four major initiatives:
Research: Comprehensive polling to understand what Albertans want and expect from their provincial government and government’s role shaping Alberta’s economic future in the short, medium and long term.
Analysis: Analyzing the research gathered and presenting it in a format which is the most understandable by the greatest number of stakeholders including citizens, media, business leaders, politicians and non-government organizations.
Communication: Ensuring the results of the research and analysis are communicated effectively to all stakeholders and provide background information on the process and reports as required.
Advocacy: Intervene to encourage policy development in existing and new Alberta government legislation to adhere to stakeholder and Albertans benefit as dictated by research and analysis.
